How do you look up a X username?

Guides

Published October 9, 2026.

An X username lookup starts with the handle in the account address. The display name can differ from that handle, and similar display names can belong to unrelated accounts. Use an original public link or the exact username before comparing account details.

Compare the handle, not just the display name

Preserve underscores and digits. Links using twitter.com and x.com may refer to the same platform, but a similar-looking handle remains a separate account. If an old link redirects, check the final address rather than assuming the account is unchanged.

Read posts in their original thread

Replies, quoted posts, and reposts can lose context in search snippets. Review the original source before attributing a statement to the account. Public activity does not establish who controls an account, and unavailable posts are not evidence about private activity.

X lookups in CheatAlert

CheatAlert includes X in its supported social username inputs. Its public checks can return profile leads for you to review, subject to public-page availability. A same-handle result does not prove that this account belongs to the person you are searching for.

Can this lookup show private X information?

No. CheatAlert’s public-profile lookup does not grant access to private content or messages. A sign-in requirement or unavailable public page limits what the lookup can return.
