How do you find a Bluesky profile by handle?
Published October 9, 2026.
A Bluesky handle includes a domain, such as example.bsky.social or a custom domain. A bare first name is not a complete handle. Start with the full address the person has shared so you do not accidentally check a different account.
Keep the domain in the handle
The domain is part of the identifier. Two handles with the same leading word but different domains are different lookup inputs. Copy the complete handle or profile URL, then confirm the public page displays the account you intended to inspect.
Display names do not establish ownership
A familiar display name or avatar is only a clue. Review the actual handle and any public links on the account. If a handle has changed, a saved old address may not be enough to locate the current profile.
Bluesky lookups in CheatAlert
CheatAlert’s Bluesky input expects a complete handle or supported profile URL. Its public-profile preview can help check that address. An incomplete handle should be corrected rather than counted as evidence that no account exists.
Does an empty result mean there is no account?
No. A public lookup can miss unindexed pages, different usernames, and pages that require sign-in. An empty result describes the checks performed, not every account a person may have.
A result is public profiles to review.
