How to identify a platform’s original profile domain

Review public profile evidence

Published October 9, 2026.

Checking the domain helps distinguish a platform source from a third-party result or copied page. The account’s public address matters before any displayed name, photo, or match claim is interpreted.

What you can do next

Compare the URL with the platform address shown in trusted documentation or the product’s supported profile format. Note the final destination after redirects. Avoid entering credentials into a lookalike page while reviewing a lead.

What this does not establish

A logo or familiar layout cannot establish that a page belongs to the original platform. A third-party summary is not the same as inspecting the account source.

Preserve what is unknown

Public-source review should state which page was checked and what it actually showed. A missing field is not an invitation to fill it with the search input. An access failure is not confirmed account absence. Keep observation time, content dates, and alleged activity dates separate, and describe a possible match as possible until supported information resolves it.

For the next step, read what a possible match cannot prove. If you are reviewing an online lead, keep the original public source and its uncertainties separate from your relationship decision.

Can CheatAlert settle this question?

CheatAlert can help check supported public profile inputs. It cannot verify identity from a handle or photo alone, unlock private content, or provide a complete account inventory. Review the original source and the stated coverage before connecting a result to a person.
